OAB/RS (Brazilian Bar Association of Rio Grande do Sul) launches free e-book on current topics in corporate judicial reorganization.
The Higher School of Advocacy of the OAB/RS (ESA/RS) and the Special Commission on Bankruptcy and Judicial Recovery of the OAB/RS (CEFRJ) are making available to the lawyers of Rio Grande do Sul, this Thursday (20), the e-book Judicial Recovery of Companies - Current Themes. The digital work brings together 18 articles by lawyers from all over the State and seeks to portray some of the main themes of the Judicial Recovery process, thus providing critical reflection and knowledge to the entire legal class.
The e-book can be downloaded for free from the virtual library via the ESA/RS Student Portal (http://esars.org.br/noticias/oabrs-lanca-ebook-gratuito-sobre-temas-atuais-recuperacao-judicial-empresas/28960). Through the platform, those interested can also download other books of their interest. To download, the user needs to complete a brief registration.
The coordination of the book was the responsibility of the president and members of CEFRJ, João Medeiros Fernandes Jr., Arthur Alves Silveira and Daniel Báril.
The Director-General of ESA/RS, Rosângela Herzer, highlighted the importance of the work for the legal profession: “We are convinced that the collection will fully achieve its objective, by enabling lawyers and legal professionals to improve and refine their knowledge in the interesting array of topics related to Judicial Reorganization, such as DIP Investments, Cram Down, Judicial Administration, Recovery of Business Groups, Co-obligors, among others,” she emphasized. “Undeniably, our nation has been going through a period of significant economic and business crisis (not to mention political), which has made the topic of Insolvency quite attractive to the general public, deserving enormous prestige, including the courses that our School has had the pleasure of offering for years, and especially through this work,” she explained.
The president of CEFRJ, João Medeiros Fernandes Jr., reported that this year the Commission organized the 1st Seminar on Business Restructuring: Practical Aspects of Judicial Reorganization, at the OAB/RS Cubo, an event that exceeded all expectations, with more than 300 registered participants in a full day of discussions, with the presence of jurists from all over the country: “The book crowns the work and the proposal of the Commission itself, which is to bring fellow lawyers from all over Rio Grande do Sul closer to a topic of such relevance in the current economic scenario - Judicial Reorganization -, addressing the issues that most intrigue this fascinating area of Law,” he stated.
