Justice accepts request for judicial recovery from Maldaner Group

Creditors of the company, formed by agricultural producers from Balsas (MA), had already approved the restructuring plan.

The Maranhão Court today (April 5th) approved the request for judicial reorganization of the Maldaner Group, formed by rural producers from Balsas (MA). Creditors had already approved the company's restructuring plan in 2020.

In its bankruptcy filing, the group claimed that the Covid-19 pandemic exacerbated the difficulties it had already been facing since 2015, when weather problems hampered its operations and affected its revenue. With the company's increasing debts to banks and suppliers, it opted for judicial reorganization.

Quist Investimentos and the law firm RC Law are working on restructuring the company. According to them, conditions are favorable for the Maldaner Group to emerge from bankruptcy protection.

“We will align our operations, reorganize our accounts, and take advantage of the current moment to make room for an investor,” said Douglas Duek, CEO of Quist, in a statement. Quist has previously worked on restructuring groups such as New Agro, Zaltron, Brunetta, Nobre de Adelco Pedó, Peteck, Câmera, and Soldatelli, among others.
